The Senior Manager, Portfolio Office is responsible for overseeing the Portfolio Office to ensure the successful delivery of the organization's portfolio of programmes and projects. This role is pivotal in providing strategic oversight, governance, and support to ensure that all projects align with the organization's strategic objectives and deliver maximum value. The Senior Manager, Portfolio Office is a key leader in driving best practices, resource management, and ensuring effective decision-making across the portfolio.
What will you be doing?
1. Lead the development and implementation of the portfolio management framework, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
2. Provide strategic oversight and guidance to ensure the portfolio delivers maximum value and aligns with business objectives.
3. Develop and deliver regular portfolio performance reports to senior leadership, highlighting key metrics, risks, and issues.
4. Lead and manage the Portfolio Office team, including Portfolio Analysts, Planners, and other staff.
5. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and excellence within the team.
6. Drive continuous improvement of portfolio management processes, tools, and methodologies.
What we are looking for:
1. Strong understanding of portfolio management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices (e.g., Management of Portfolios, MoP).
2. Knowledge of Project Management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2).
3. Extensive experience in portfolio, programme, and project management, preferably within a Project Office environment.
4. Experience in leading and managing high-performing teams, with strong leadership and people management skills.
5. Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
6. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
