We are currently an office of 50 professionals, including 25 Cost Managers, delivering construction solutions for our diverse client base, providing a broad range of services. We strongly promote personal and career development with clear career structures and development programmes. We look to balance this with a flexible approach to working through our “Freedom to Grow” programme.
As a Project Surveyor you will need to have experience gained within a consultancy or client organisation with the ability to undertake a supporting role supervised by an Associate on medium to large size Healthcare, Life Sciences, Defence or Tertiary Education project.
You will be expected to work as part of an integrated team in our Norwich office, with your role covering the whole project lifecycle from initial inception and business case development, through the design process, procurement process, site delivery, commissioning phase and defects management.
Here’s what you’ll do:
1. Provide effective support to Cost Managers, Graduates and Apprentices.
2. Ensure commissions are managed and completed efficiently, on time and to the client’s satisfaction.
3. Develop strong reciprocal relationships with members of the project team.
4. Manage the delivery of cost management outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards.
5. Provide full cost management duties to AECOM clients.
6. Maintain a high degree of flexibility and creativity, excellent presentational skills and an ability to communicate effectively with clients and consultants.
7. Deliver cost management services within a Client focused and highly motivated professional team.

Here’s what we’re looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
1. Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management.
2. Professionally Qualified (or working towards achieving) Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB or other equivalent institution.
3. Proven experience in a consulting environment providing the full spectrum of Cost Management services including Pre-Contract Estimating; Procurement; Contract Administration, Cost Reporting and Final Account resolution.
4. Understanding of JCT and NEC standard forms of contract.
5. Understanding of a variety of project types/sizes/sectors, particularly healthcare and higher education.
6. Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk, not just cost in isolation.
7. Excellent IT Skills and the ability to utilise digital measurement, cost planning and tender document tools shall be essential.
8. Ability to manage relationships effectively, identifying and resolving issues at the earliest possible opportunity.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Professionally Qualified (or working towards achieving) Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB or other equivalent institution.
2. CSCS Card.
