We are recruiting for 2 Food Safety Inspectors/Environmental Health Officers.
1 x full time permanent - 1 x full time long term temporary
An overview of the position:
The primary function of the role is to assist the Environmental Health Team with food hygiene inspections in the district alongside other statutory functions undertaken by the Food Safety Team, including meeting the requirements of the Food Law Code of Practice qualification.
The role of the Environmental Health Team is to protect and enhance public health and the environment as required by statute and the policies of central government and the council. This includes taking appropriate enforcement action as required.

In order to be successful, you will need:
1. To be an experienced Environmental Health Officer ideally with registration to the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB).
2. The ability to organise and prioritise work effectively in order to meet deadlines and maintain high quality of services at all times.
3. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships within the team and the wider organisation.
Financials & Hours of Work:
37 hours per week
Monday to Friday
Salary: circa £41,567.00 - £47,516.00 per annum
Experience & Knowledge we are seeking:
1. Demonstrable knowledge, experience and expertise in relation to relevant Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
2. Relevant Health & Safety Enforcement experience.
3. Relevant experience in a Corporate Health & Safety role, i.e., Safety Officer.
4. Demonstrable technical and specialist knowledge.
5. Experience with MS Office Systems, i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Qualifications we are seeking:
1. A relevant Environmental Health related qualification and EHORB (Environmental Health Officers Registration Board) registration OR
2. NEBOSH General, Fire & Environmental Certificated.
3. IOSH Health and Safety 'Managing Safely' Qualified.
4. Root Cause Analysis trained.
5. Risk Assessment Trained.
6. Technician Level for IOSH Membership.
Desirable (non-essential):
1. Experience in event safety.
2. Hold Health & Safety Authorisations.
3. Relevant experience of m3 software.
