Job Vacancy: SEN Teaching Assistant (Provision Unit) Location: Islington, North London Contract Type: Full-time, Temp to Permanent Start Date: ASAP PAY: £90 - £110 per day We are looking for a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in supporting students with complex needs within our school’s dedicated Provision Unit. The successful candidate will work with students across KS1 and KS2 who have a range of special educational needs, including those with complex learning needs, offering 1:1 and group support both in the classroom and through tailored interventions. Key Responsibilities: Provide small group support for students in KS1 and KS2 with complex needs, ensuring they are fully included in the school’s curriculum and activities Assist in the delivery of tailored interventions and personalised learning programs to meet the individual needs of students Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies Work collaboratively within the Provision Unit, sharing expertise and supporting the team in fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment Essential Skills & Experience: Experience supporting children with complex needs, particularly within an SEN school setting Knowledge and understanding of a range of special educational needs, including communication difficulties, emotional regulation, and behavioural challenges Experience in supporting individual and group interventions, with an understanding of how to tailor support to meet specific needs A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting children Desirable: Experience working in a provision unit or supporting children with complex needs Knowledge of specific interventions or therapeutic approaches used to support children with complex needs How to Apply: Please send your CV outlining your experience and suitability for the role
