We are looking for a hands-on and experienced Manager to deliver the food and beverage requirements for the Plantation Room Cafe, Puya Boutique Shopping, edulis Restaurant, and events and weddings at Ventnor Botanic Garden (VBG).
Working with the Front of House and Events/Wedding Staff, the F&B Manager will ensure reliable sourcing and delivery, bulk cost savings and the quality of our cuisine. The role includes café and event/wedding menu creation in collaboration with our chef and the gardening team to incorporate VBG produce.
While the focus of the role is on food and beverage, the whole customer experience is part and parcel of the role. We are looking for someone who is proactive and walks the site with a customer’s eyes asking for (and acting on) feedback.
This role is both hands-on and supervisory – one that serves customers and one that guides others on how to better serve customers. Weather, coach arrivals, complaints, sickness, and late deliveries all impact our ability to deliver a consistent customer experience, a consistent foodie experience, and a consistent financial performance. The Food & Beverage Manager will run the VBG Flex System which adjusts staffing to daily conditions and uses resources flexibly across all departments.
