Job Title: Designer's Site Representative - Highways & Bridges

Project Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Designer's Site Representative to work on a major highways bypass project in the Somerset area. This long-term infrastructure scheme includes extensive highways and bridge works and is a key development in improving regional transport networks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as the on-site representative for the design team, ensuring that the contractor is following design specifications and compliance requirements.
2. Liaise between the design team and construction teams to address design queries, resolve technical issues, and provide engineering support.
3. Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure works align with approved designs, safety standards, and contractual requirements.
4. Assist in reviewing construction methodologies and verifying compliance with design intent.
5. Monitor progress and report any design-related challenges or deviations to project stakeholders.
6. Support the project team with design modifications, as required, to adapt to site conditions or unforeseen challenges.
7. Ensure that design-related health, safety, and environmental considerations are met throughout construction.
Key Requirements:
1. Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
2. Extensive experience in highways and bridge construction projects.
3. Previous experience working as a Designer's Site Representative (DSR) or in a similar design assurance role.
4. Strong understanding of highways standards (DMRB), CDM regulations, and relevant industry best practices.
5. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to coordinate effectively between design and construction teams.
6. Ability to work independently and make informed decisions on-site.
