We are seeking experienced clinicians with a background in orthopaedics, pre-assessment/urgent care assessment, mental health, physical health, neurological settings, and ITU units, all backgrounds are welcomed to apply. Our client who has multiple divisions across private and government health services including Occupational Health, Physiotherapy, Talking Therapies, Medical repatriation and Health Assessment. In the role of Disability Assessor you can expect to undertake comprehensive training including a mix of classroom, self-led modules, a preceptorship and coaching 1:1 with an experienced clinician to become an autonomous Nurse/AHP conducting PIP Disability Assessments for individuals with complex long-term health conditions. Following your training you will be based in a local clinic and from home through a hybrid working arrangement, joining a successful team of specialist health practitioners across the London and the South East of England. About the Role As a Disability Assessor, you will conduct comprehensive assessments for individuals applying for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) or Work Capability Assessment (WCA). You will work in a hybrid model, combining remote and on-site assessments, ensuring a balanced work-life schedule. Responsibilities of the role: You will join a team that interviews claimants over the phone, via a video call, or face-to-face from an office environment to understand a variety of conditions including mental health, physical, sensory and cognitive conditions. You will be assessing their conditions with medical reports, interviews, observations and examinations and understand the challenges that they face, their needs and how adaptations and aids support their day to day lives. Complete functional assessments on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), assessing a wide range of health conditions You will analyse medical evidence and then present a comprehensive report, which will then be sent to the DWP to make a decision about each claim Work hybrid via a remote and on-site working pattern typically 3 days in the office per week, with offices across the South East including Kent, Greater London, Norfolk, Essex and Bedfordshire. Requirements of the role Qualifications accepted: Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Occupational therapist, Paramedic or Physiotherapist, with no restrictions on your professional practice. Experience sought: excellent clinical experience 12 months post registration. A broad clinical knowledge base, with experience working with individuals with a variety of different health conditions, within the relevant adult patient demographic An appetite to learn to become a specialist in disability assessment Ability to work autonomously Strong IT, system navigation and typing skills are essential, basic Excel and competent with hosting meetings.
