Main duties of the job Main purpose of job: To create an environment of patient-focused high-quality care, defining standards, managing and developing a team of Registered Nurses and Unregistered support staff. To lead and develop nursing workforce across the Hospice promoting the organisations vision and values. To promote clinical effectiveness and evidence-based practice in all areas of patient care. The post holder will be an expert knowledge base for consultation, training and service development. The post holder will work independently and with the Director of Clinical Services to identify current issues and new developments in nursing, palliative and end of life care and advise on their application to practice. To contribute to the development and delivery of the Hospice Strategy and clinical work plans as part of the senior clinical and nurse team. To ensure the framework and resources are in place to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality care, encouraging MDT working to continue to be at the heart of the inpatient service. Strong professional leadership to deliver care and ensure all professionals are engaged and involved. Ensure staffing levels are safe and effective and deliver quality of care. Build innovation and excellence through a structured approach to clinical research, development and evidence-based practice.
