Position Title: Assembly Flow Line Operator
Location: St. Neots (PE19)
Hours: 07:30 am- 4 pm (Mon- Thur) & 07:30 am- 01:30 pm (Fri)
Salary: 12.21- 13.70/hour
JOB PURPOSE
Working within the Assembly Flow Line process team, assembling electro-mechanical assemblies as part of an assembly line using a variety of small hand tools and production aids/jigs. To follow methods and sequence of operations in kit prep, mechanical assembly, in-line inspection, in-line testing, and end-of-line packing. Adhering to internal production processes and workflow plans while reporting to the process supervisor.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assembling electro-mechanical units as part of an Assembly Flow line, to hit daily output targets while adhering to production documentation.
2. Assembling electro-mechanical units using a variety of small hand tools such as screwdrivers (manual and electric), cutters, and nut runners.
3. In-line inspection on product supplied by the previous assembly stage.
4. Ensuring product is assembled as per build documentation while achieving daily production output targets.
5. Supporting Process Supervisor with continuous improvement ideas for improved efficiency.
6. Working with Engineering using customer supplied documentation during NPI process.
7. Learning and performing basic troubleshooting protocols and rework for non-conforming units.
8. Ability to be flexible and handle priority changes as they occur.
9. Carrying out normal assembly tasks as required.
10. Reporting any quality problems or defects to the manager or a member of senior management for corrective action.
11. Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in the use of hand tools with good manual dexterity is required.
2. Good attention to detail while maintaining focus on repeatable tasks is required.
3. Previous experience of basic soldering skills is desirable.
4. Previous experience working as part of an Assembly Flow Line is desirable.
5. Knowledge and experience of working with LEAN methodologies is desirable.
6. Any previous experience of being IPC-A-610 certified is desirable.
7. Knowledge of workmanship standards and quality control procedures including compliance for ESD is desirable.
8. Comfortable with the use of Microsoft Office Suite is desirable.
