The role:
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for evaluating project requirements, determining costs, and preparing accurate and comprehensive estimates. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, suppliers, and clients to ensure that cost projections align with project objectives and budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify the needs of the customer by developing and nurturing strong relationships, ensuring that designs and project plans meet their requirements.
* Provide an accurate and competitive estimation of costs to include materials, labour, equipment and overheads to complete the project.
* Prepare and distribute quotes, providing a responsive same day service where required and addressing customer queries.
* Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, bids, contracts, and project-related documentation from suppliers.
* Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project costs, schedules, or quality.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide accurate and timely service to customers.
* Extract from N13 drawings ensuring correct specification and pricing requirements.
* Support bid team for new contract opportunities and buying activities.
* Review new or existing products during the design phase to reduce costs and increase profitability.

Skills and competencies:
* Proven experience as an estimator in the construction, manufacturing, or engineering industry.
* Understanding of project management principles and industry methods.
* Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
* Familiarity with estimating software applications.
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
