Do you have a passion for supporting people to rebuild their lives? We are recruiting for a Recovery Support Worker role in our Thornbury Road complex needs hostel, where you will be part of a team providing 24hr support to 16 clients at the start of their journey with us, supporting them towards greater independence. This role involves shift work, including evenings and weekends. In the role of Recovery Support Worker, you will be working with our clients on their road to recovery, aiding clients to gain the necessary skills to move on from our services and into suitable accommodation. You will assist a caseload of clients, supporting them to maintain independence in the community, build on their skills for employment, manage their own health needs, and look towards a brighter future. You will also have some housing management responsibilities as part of ensuring we deliver safe, high quality services. Please note, due to the needs of all our services, there is a requirement to work a shift rota, so flexibility is required. This will include some weekends and bank holidays, and the role will be service based with no home working. About you To succeed in this highly rewarding role you would benefit if you: Have an understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people – you may have had personal experience of homelessness yourself. Have experience of helping vulnerable people to identify personal goals and supporting them through a process of change. Have a sound understanding of the support needs of people with low incomes, including rent payments/arrears and professional boundary issues. Be committed to our Recovery Ethos. However, above all we are looking for inspirational, committed individuals who have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives.
