About the Candidate and the type of person who would fit us best: Valid manual driver's licence, with preferably no more than 3 points. Proven experience as a driver. Familiarity with local traffic laws and knowledge of assigned delivery areas/routes. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers and colleagues. Ability to work independently while adhering to delivery schedules. Sort goods on arrival at depot into route order and then load in correct delivery sequence onto vans. Support colleagues in the sortation and loading of vans where required. Carry out daily vehicle checks and maintain vehicle roadworthiness. Record and report all vehicle defects in a timely manner Inc. nil defects. Meet all legal requirements of the use of the highways. Comply with all EU, Domestic and WTD rules. Record and report all damages in accordance with company policy. Adheres to all company guidance and instructions in relation to the delivery and return of goods supplied by the company via the depot. Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness with company vehicles to project a professional image. Adhere to company standards regarding work wear and PPE. Correctly use all equipment supplied and maintain in a good condition. Report any faults or issues with equipment in a timely manner e.g., Sack Truck, Nomad Boxes, Temperature Recording Equipment, PPE etc. Take all reasonable precautions to safeguard the vehicle and its contents ensuring vehicles are locked when unattended. Only allow as passenger’s associates of the company or persons authorised by the company. Maintain strong links with both the Transport and Customer Service Departments. Remain contactable, when at work, by ensuring the company provided phone is on and connected to ‘Bluetooth’. Be flexible and react positively to changes within the business. Maintain accurate records of daily activities and ensure start times are adhered to. Follow company procedure for times of absence. Ensure both Domestic, EU and WTD regulations are adhered to. Understand and comply with job relevant, Companies Practice Standards at all times. Understand the Companies standard operating procedures and attend training sessions as appropriate
