We’re looking to recruit an Assurance Officer who will act as the key UKAD point of contact for a selection of National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of sport, About Us Our purpose : To ensure doping-free sport, promoting and protecting clean sport through education, testing and enforcement. Job Purpose You will be a member of the Assurance team and as the key contact for a selection of NGB’s will lead on the support and compliance monitoring required to enable them to meet their Assurance Framework requirements and maintain compliance with the UK National Anti-Doping Policy. Key result areas include Lead on the compliance for a selection of NGBs from different sports, acting as the primary point of contact for supporting those NGBs with their Assurance Framework compliance obligations Manage the process for new NGBs that have started to receive public funding from a UK Sports Council, providing guidance and resources to enable them to meet the 24 Assurance Framework requirements Facilitate partnerships between NGBs and encourage sharing of good practice and resources Assess and evaluate Assurance Framework evidence submitted by NGBs against the minimum standards set out in the Assurance Framework guidance document Provide constructive feedback to NGBs on any evidence that fails to meet the required minimum standards in the Assurance Framework, supporting the NGBs in gaining compliance on the relevant elements Assist in the planning and preparation of the Annual Submission, including the creation of supporting resources and documents (as required) Support the planning process in advance of an Assurance Review, including communicating the process to NGBs and assessing evidence provided by the NGB in advance of the Review Actively participate in in-person Reviews reviewing the NGB’s anti-doping programme with NGB staff (including senior management) in a professional manner Support the post-Review process, including identifying and documenting the outcomes from the Review and assessing evidence submitted as a result of any compliance actions identified Contribute to the ongoing development of the NGB support programme, including the delivery of resources and events to assist NGBs with the development of their anti-doping activities (such as annual forums/webinars for NGB Anti-Doping Leads and Board Anti-Doping Leads Work closely with colleagues in the Education team to co-ordinate and develop the education support and feedback provided to NGBs on their education activities (including via the support programme, Annual Submission and Assurance Reviews) NGBs and Sports Councils) Person specification Qualifications/experience/knowledge Significant experience of working in a regulatory environment, preferably within sport Experience of reviewing information against a set of criteria Experience of providing constructive feedback and guiding/influencing behaviours Experience of building relationships with a variety of external stakeholders to effect change Experience in providing compliance support (desirable) Experience of working at or with NGBs / similar sports bodies (desirable) Skills Passion for sport and helping to protect clean sport High level of personal integrity in work Proactive, enthusiastic, personable and professional Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent attention to detail Confident in networking, developing and maintaining positive working relationships with a range of individuals operating at various levels within an organisation High level organisation skills, with the capability to prioritise own workload and work to multiple competing deadlines within a time-pressured environment, producing high quality results Able to cope in challenging environments, including delivering critical feedback with tact and diplomacy Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information Proficient with Microsoft Office systems (Word, Excel etc.) How to apply Our values are at the heart of what we do, so if they align with you and you’re up for the fight against doping in sport, please complete the online application.
