Huntsman has an opportunity for an experienced Site Manager or a very talented and committed Operations Manager with great potential who will join our Advanced Materials division in Duxford, UK. The Site Manager is responsible for the management, control, development and safe operation of the UK based facility, including direct accountability for Production (including packing), Engineering, Process Development and Quality Control and responsible for the site performance on Planning and Materials, Warehousing and Distribution (including RDC) and building effective working relationships with support functions. The output from these key areas and interfaces will service the worldwide markets for the Advanced Materials Business.

Role Responsibilities
As a Site Manager, you will have the following responsibilities:
1. EHS and Process Safety
Ensure that all Production facilities on the Duxford site operate in accordance with the UK legislation, Company Policies and Guidelines for Health, Safety, process safety and Environmental Protection at all times.
Major tasks:
* Use leading & lagging indicators to actively manage EHS & Process safety.
* Continually drive improvements to systems and procedures to ensure safety first and zero harm.
Run the site safely, cost effectively and relentlessly strive for operational effectiveness and efficiencies within all areas of responsibility, and achieve standards that compare favourably when benchmarked against other related companies.
Major tasks:
* Accountability for the outputs of the site in terms of Safety, cost, quality and timeliness of the overall performance.
* Define the manufacturing strategy and targets for each department to fully meet or exceed the requirements of the business/division.
* Provide leadership, management and control of the site, covering Production, Packing, Engineering, Process Development, and Quality Control, with a direct link with all other supporting functions in the site.
* Lead the site leadership team by identifying, developing and staffing the organizational capabilities and talent in line with business objectives.
* Create a professional, business driven, proactive mindset within the extended site leadership team. Lead and promote a culture based on continuous improvement, efficiency and effectiveness.
* Balance site needs and constraints with demand.
* Strongly Support Site for any S&OP related activity and meet all KPI’s.
* Lead or actively participate in management committees in Duxford and in regional committee meetings. Ensure full staff engagement and participation in safety and EHS matters.
3. Financial and Legal
Optimise the outputs of the site, in terms of cost, quality, safety and overall performance. Responsible for all aspects of the site and legal entity. Ensure the site and other facilities operate in accordance with local legislation and Company policy and guidelines.
Major tasks:
* Optimisation of the working processes and cost to serve.
* Assure implementation and sustainability standard implementation - Drive optimization and participate actively in the standardisation between functions and sites.
* Manage the financial position of the site and ensure delivery of CAPEX projects to time.
Experience and Competencies
We are looking for experienced candidates with excellent communication skills and a solution focused approach.
Education
* Degree either in Chemistry/Chemical or related Engineering discipline required (or equivalent experience).
* Formal qualification in Management/Business Administration preferable.
* Language skills: Fluent in English. (French or German desirable).
Experience
* Commercial exposure with proven experience of managing site operations.
* Extensive experience in production, engineering and management.
* Knowledge of Business needs and Customer driven demand.
* Understanding of commercial prioritisation.
* High focus on data and metrics.
* LEAN manufacturing - experience of implementation & delivery.
* Proven track record of managing teams to achieve business objectives Sales, Marketing or technical background preferable.
Know-how/skills
* Good understanding of the overall business (breadth of knowledge) and ability to think strategically about the future of the operational areas.
* Proven leadership skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented.
* Strong convincing and negotiation skills.
* Ability to delegate and create collective team mobilization.
* High analytical skills based on data.
* Mental agility - Design organization to deliver targets and strategy.
* High level of computer literacy/ proficiency in major IT tools (SAP, Excel, Access, BI).
