Neonatal Shift Lead Band 7 Salary: £43,742 - £50,056 Location: Midland Metropolitan University Hospital Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Band 7 Neonatal Shift Lead to join a passionate neonatal team in Birmingham. In this leadership role, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality nursing care during your shifts, ensuring the best outcomes for neonatal patients. You will support and mentor junior staff, manage resources effectively, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to maintain the highest standards of care. Main Duties of the Job: Provide leadership and direction to the nursing team. Provide effective day-to-day shift management of the Neonatal Unit. Promote and maintain organisational and professional standards. Promote a learning environment in the Neonatal Unit. Promote research and evidence-based practice. Be accountable for the quality of care delivered within the unit by the team and work with ODN/LMNS. Lead and manage the nursing team during shifts in the Neonatal Unit. Provide expert clinical care to neonates, including advanced assessments and interventions. Support and educate parents and families, providing emotional and practical support. Collaborate with doctors, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans. Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Act as a clinical support and resource to colleagues. Support the Matron, Ward Manager, and Neonatal Clinical Educator with the identification, planning, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of educational opportunities, programs, and activities for the whole multidisciplinary team (MDT). Essential Criteria: RN Adult or Child Branch/Midwifery. Current NMC registration. Postgraduate qualification relevant to clinical speciality (Neonatal Pathway). Degree level qualification in a health-related subject or willingness to work towards. Leadership or management qualification. Teaching and Assessing qualifications. Neonatal Life Support (NLS).
