You will like\n\nResidential/Commercial Building Surveying with training & development from Exeter SouthWest area office for a national, award-winning property consultancy delivering high profile, and inspiring developments to a range of public and private sector clients across the UK. \n\nThey have an excellent reputation for delivering professional services across a range of property management disciplines including; building surveying, architectural design, M & E engineering, project management and estate management.\n\nYou will like\n\nThe Building Surveyor job itself where you will have the opportunity to get involved with a range of different projects, undertaking a number of duties including:\n\nOverseeing complex refurbishment & maintenance projects up to a value of £1 million, working for large public sector clients with a continuous stream of repeat business.\n\t\nProducing your own design & technical drawings, preparing tender documents, undertaking contract administration duties/project management and site monitoring duties of relevant contracts ensuring compliance and quality control.\n\t\nLeading quality assurance across projects and services, ensuring client needs are met and relevant legislation adhered to.\n\t\nUndertaking site surveys in relation to condition/building surveying, schedules of condition, dilapidations, measured surveys and planned maintenance; defect analysis to include analytical investigation, research and preparation of technical reports\n\t\nCollating and presenting findings to internal and external stakeholders, offering solutions and recommendations where required.\n\nThey can support your pursuit of industry recognised qualifications and memberships, as well as give you the chance to continuously take on new projects in a commercial environment, rewarding you for your progression. There is an APC training programme in place for those Surveyors looking to become Chartered.\n\nYou will have\n\nTo be successful as a Building Surveyor, you will have a healthy mix of the following:\n\nIdeally you will hold (or be working towards) a Professional Chartered Membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), however we would be keen to support someone through this process so this is not essential.\n\t\nExperience in the design, contract administration & project management of construction projects of varying size and complexity.\n\t\nKnowledge of the Building Regulations, Health & Safety and other relevant construction and building surveying related legislation.\n\t\nExcellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and negotiate with all levels of internal and external parties.\n\t\nAbility to work independently with minimal support or within a large multi-disciplinary team\n\t\nA strong design background and to be proficient in AutoCAD.\n\nWhilst we are ideally looking for a more experienced Building Surveyor with at least 3-4 years experience, this forward thinking organisation also offer career development opportunities for an up-and-coming individual.
