Sales Account Manager
Home Based UK
Salary: Commensurate with Experience
Our client is a leading manufacturer of polymer compounds with a global customer base into a plethora of markets.
They are currently looking to recruit a Sales Account Manager to bring strength and depth into the European sales team. The successful candidate will have a proven background in the sales of polymers, compounding or associated materials. This experience coupled with technical skills and a commercial bias will be used to fill this exciting role.
Main Purpose:
The main focus is to service key existing accounts, while identifying, targeting and acquiring new customers. You will support the growth of the business in the assigned territories and will strive to achieve the sales budget within the defined area and/or to specifically defined sales accounts. (Includes revenue, volume and margin).
Principal Accountabilities:
* Support in the growth of the business in the assigned territories and will strive to achieve the sales budget within the defined area and/or to specifically defined sales accounts. (Includes revenue, volume and margin).
* Travel with in the designated area attending customers sites as needed and driving business opportunities.
* Support in market research and sales initiatives.
* Manage key accounts with varying values from 100K to multi Million projects.
* Provide proposals and communicate price changes to customers.
* Recommend pricing tactics and how to successfully implement the decision to the European Sales Manager.
* Recommend the appropriate service levels for individual customers and ensures that these levels are maintained – visit frequency etc.
* Work is planned and prioritized in line with the budget and customer requirements.
Report Preparation:
* Provide monthly reports for sales summarizing key developments, new business opportunities, competitor activities and customer planned visits.
Contact with Others
Within the Company
* Review of sales opportunities with the European Sales Manager, Global Sales Manager and General Manager.
* Sales Meetings with colleagues.
* Technical meetings.
* Finance.
* Day-to-day contact with Customer Service, Technical and Production departments.
Outside the Company
* Customer commercial meetings.
* Customer Technical Meetings.
* Exhibitions as appropriate.
* Conferences as appropriate.
* Contact with trade associations and regulatory bodies.
Knowledge and Experience Required:
* Technical sales experience with polymers, compounding and other associated technical materials.
* Degree educated in a relevant materials principle, chemistry, materials science, polymer science.
* The ability to work either independently and/or as a member of a team.
* To be willing and able to travel within a designated geographical area including Europe.
* To be able to competently work with a computer and with the Microsoft Office Applications.
* German language advantageous
