Our client is a specialist in design and manufacturing who provides bespoke solutions across an array of sectors. They are hunting for a focused individual with experience in procurement from a manufacturing or similar environment. Does this sound like you?
As the Procurement Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing strategic procurement plans. You will be responsible for monitoring supplier performance, cultivating strong professional relationships, and driving continuous improvement within the Supply Chain team. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's operations and contribute to its ongoing success in the UK and international markets.
Responsibilities
1. Develop a strategic procurement plan aligned with company goals and objectives, setting targets and plans
2. Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality and timely delivery, initiating corrective actions when necessary
3. Cultivate strong professional relationships with suppliers to enhance cost-effectiveness, quality, payment terms, and lead times
4. Produce and analyse KPIs in collaboration with the Operations Manager
5. Oversee the timely generation of accurate purchase orders for stock and non-stock items
6. Maintain accurate supplier data within the MRP system, focusing on price consistency and lead times
7. Work closely with the Operations Manager and stock department to reduce supply chain risk and ensure continuity
8. Lead and mentor members of the Supply Chain team, demonstrating best practices and driving continuous improvement
9. Effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring transparency and responsiveness to procurement needs
Candidate Profile
1. CIPS level 5 or 6 qualified
2. Significant experience in procurement, preferably from within a manufacturing environment
3. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data management
4. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships
5. Experience with MRP and ERP systems
6. Excellent organisational skills
7. Strong analytical skills
