This role is crucial in providing up-to-date and accurate information, advice, and guidance to students applying for summer university-managed accommodation. You will act as a liaison between service users and operational teams, addressing queries and requests related to university-managed accommodation. Day-to-day of the role: Assist with the allocation of summer accommodation to students, taking the lead on this task and supporting the allocation of other student cohorts. Maintain and update information systems in compliance with the Data Protection Act, ensuring accurate recording of query types and suggestions for improvement. Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and other service areas to engender confidence and trust in the advice provided. Handle reception duties, manage email and telephone queries about student housing in a professional manner, and provide general information about university-owned housing. Administer swaps of accommodation, terminations of tenancies, and raise rental and other accommodation-related charges to students’ accounts. Provide support and guidance for the Summer Housing Assistants and assist the Applications and Allocations manager with management reports to aid the improvement of processes. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in a similar role, or strong admin experience Strong communication skills, capable of handling straightforward and complex queries effectively. Ability to develop and maintain productive and collaborative relationships. Proficient in using information systems and ensuring compliance with data protection laws. Ability to research and provide accurate advice, referring to colleagues when necessary. Experience in delivering coaching and training in line with existing policy and procedures is desirable.
