We are looking for a candidate that can: Lead the People Partnering team for the Faculty in the provision of a high-quality and responsive strategic Partnering Service. Identify and communicate local business needs / goals that influence the wider People Strategy and ensure the cascade of wider interventions that are created within the Directorate's Centres of Expertise. Have oversight of integrated academic and PS priorities in Schools Ensure the development and implementation of People Plans in support of Faculty priorities and in line with the University's People Strategy. Key Responsibilities: As Lead People and OD Partner (Grade 8) assigned to Faculty of Biology, Medicine & Health, you will; To lead and manage a team of People Partners in the provision of a comprehensive, strategic and responsive People Partnering service which supports change, performance and the achievement of PS/CI/University objectives and priorities and ensures effective people management and compliance. Where required, lead key, strategic People projects to deliver specific, agreed objectives and changes in accordance with the People Strategy and the delivery of the PS Vision. Contribute to University wide transformational change projects. In conjunction with senior People colleagues to ensure the optimal deployment of People and Partners across the Faculty, the wider University, and to support cross-University projects and demands. To foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance within the Partnering team, and actively support the professional development of team members. Participate with client leaders in decision making to support the achievement of Faculty and University strategic priorities and objectives. Take ownership and prime responsibility for the operationalisation of the People strategy within the University policy framework. To ensure that University People strategy and employment policy is appropriately applied within the Faculty, and in a manner that meets the needs and circumstances of client areas whilst reinforcing the University's position as a single employer. Provide support and advice to Faculty senior management to enable them to maximize potential and performance of their teams. In conjunction with Employee Relations colleagues, to manage employee relations and support employee engagement and related communications in an effective manner. Person Specification: Degree and / or Chartered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development Experience of strategic partnering with senior / executive leadership teams, driving performance by translating strategic plans into an aligned people agenda for delivery across a large and complex organisation. A successful track record of leading and developing a People Partnering team Experience of working effectively in partnership with wider People function and centres of excellence including, Talent Acquisition and Development, Reward, People Services, Employee Relations, EDI, Organisational Effectiveness and Culture. High order people skills including excellent presentation and written skills, commercial focus, highly developed analytical skills, pragmatic problem solving, motivating, persuading and negotiating skills.
