JOB DESCRIPTION
Evaluate and comment on discipline engineering work performed both internally and by Contractors and sub-contractors to ensure that work is being executed in accordance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements. Facilitates effective execution of discipline engineering and design routines that align with the project's goals, objectives, and procedures. Assures accurate and timely communication among the Project Team and other company Functions on discipline engineering activities, progress, and issues. In addition to technical ability, they should demonstrate sound communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Facilitate and coordinate discipline engineering technical work products
2. Coordination and communication of various issues among the company's and contractor's engineering team that affect the discipline engineering design, safety, and regulatory compliance of the work
3. Evaluate / comment work performed by the Contractor and sub-contractors to ensure that the work is being executed in accordance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements. Includes review of discipline design drawings and documents.
4. Identify and assess deviations to Contract Technical Specifications and regulatory requirements; ensure that such deviations will be processed according to project procedures; maintains Deviation Control Log.
5. Steward discipline engineering queries from the Contractor and sub-contractors as well as technical information requests.
6. Keep Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager informed of discipline engineering progress, deviations, and execution concerns
7. Participate in discipline engineering reviews at Contractor's and subcontractor's locations
8. Drives and promotes capital efficiency in engineering design
9. Assisting Business Lines in developing safety processes related to risk assessment and management, safety training, asset integrity, safe operations, contractor safety, emergency preparedness, incident investigations, etc.
10. Participate in various safety studies/activities, such as: PHAs, HAZOPs, JSAs, incident investigations, compliance reviews, or insurance surveys.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Technical Skills:
* Environmental, Health, and Safety experience
* Loss Prevention experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering within discipline or equivalent
* Extensive knowledge of industry design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria.
* Extensive knowledge of Company design standards and specifications
* Proficient in engineering management activities for contractor surveillance
* Proficient in relevant modeling and hazard identification software
Generic Skills
* Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and heavy workloads
* Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs
* Able to read, write, and speak fluent English
* Strong problem-solver
* Strong organizational and coordination skills
