Business Development Manager – Automated Payments & Software Solutions
We are exclusively supporting a nationally recognised workplace technology organisation in their search for a Business Development Manager to drive growth across their software solutions portfolio — with a particular focus on automated payment services and digital workflow transformation.
This is a key commercial role, ideal for an experienced and results-oriented sales professional with a background in SaaS, accounts payable automation, or financial process optimisation.
Role Overview:
The successful individual will play a pivotal role in promoting a suite of software solutions designed to enhance efficiency, compliance, and sustainability within client organisations. These solutions include automated invoice processing, document and information management, and broader business process automation tools.
You will be responsible for both developing new business opportunities and expanding existing client relationships, working consultatively to identify areas where automation and optimisation can deliver measurable value.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute a robust commercial strategy for software sales within the AP and automation space
* Identify, approach, and convert new client opportunities through proactive outreach, referrals, and industry networking
* Conduct detailed needs analyses, product demonstrations, and ROI-based proposals for decision-makers
* Collaborate closely with internal product, marketing, and technical teams to deliver compelling and tailored solutions
* Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and forecasts through CRM systems
* Support the ongoing growth of the organisation’s digital transformation offerings with a long-term view
Required Experience & Competencies:
* A proven track record of success in B2B software sales, ideally within SaaS, document management, AP automation, or finance transformation
* Strong understanding of cloud-based solutions and their application in improving operational processes
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Commercial acumen with the ability to translate client needs into actionable solutions
* Self-motivated and target-driven, with a proactive approach to business development
* Willingness to travel across the UK as required
