We have a rare opportunity to join our fabulous school as an Assistant Head Teacher. This role has recently become available due to the successful promotion to deputy headship of one of our current Assistant Heads. Our children, staff, and governors are now seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational individual for this role.

The Assistant Headteacher:
Is primarily a non-class based role, with a small teaching commitment, which we anticipate to be one day a week. The Assistant Headteacher is also a member of the Senior Leadership Team with areas of responsibility to include;
* Teaching and learning with a focus on developing pedagogy to raise standards from Early Years to Year 6.
* Assessment from EYFS to Year 6.
* Leadership of teaching assistants and HLTAs, including supporting their CPD, in order to enable pupils to achieve academic success.
* Wider leadership responsibilities that support the effective day-to-day management of the school, in line with the job description.
To be successful in this role you will be:
* An excellent classroom practitioner who is able to role model outstanding teaching and learning.
* Experienced in raising standards and influencing practice beyond your own classroom.
* Up to date on current and emerging education research and best practice for teaching and learning, with the passion and skills to share and develop this knowledge across the school.
* An inspirational leader with strong individual and team management skills that motivate others to deliver excellent outcomes for our children.
* Experienced in designing and delivering effective CPD for staff in a range of different formats.
* Committed to developing your own practice through personal CPD.
* A talented and effective communicator.
* Confident in the use of IT applications to develop teaching and learning.
* Able to evidence how you have worked in or alongside a leadership team to deliver whole school improvement priorities and show the impact you had in this role.

The closing date for this vacancy is 9am, Monday 18th November 2024. Shortlisting will be undertaken by Wednesday 20th November and successful candidates will be notified.
Part of the selection process will include visiting shortlisted candidates in their current school to observe them teaching a lesson with a short conversation afterwards. This will take place during the afternoons of Monday 25th or Tuesday 26th November. A one-day selection process at Gledhow Primary School will follow on Wednesday 27th November.
This role is based in the UK.
