Position Summary
The Associate Manager of Demand Planning is responsible for the total unconstrained demand forecast (both baseline and promotional) in the SAP-IBP tool for one business cluster (more than one market). They are supported by Market Demand Planners within the same cluster and collaborate closely with Demand Planning Analysts.
Responsibilities include:
* Challenging statistical forecasts and the True Base in SAP-IBP, informing the Demand Planning Analyst if the results are not reliable, and proposing historical data cleaning when necessary.
* Collaborating with the Demand Planning Analyst to review trends and update Demand Planning building blocks accordingly.
* Ensuring that the forecast numbers in the SAP-IBP tool align with those in the Kantar tool, and that all promotional forecasts are accurately reflected in SAP-IBP.
In the SOP process, the Associate Manager prepares and facilitates pre-DMR and DMR meetings, ensuring all key market functions understand and align with the total volume forecast, and securing validation and sign-off from the Business Director. They must ensure that market processes and meetings remain aligned with global processes.
Key Activities will include:
* Sharing market information and collaborating closely with the Demand Planning Analyst to achieve the best possible total market forecast.
* Participating and supporting weekly S&OE (horizon 1-3 months) and monthly S&OP (horizon 4-24 months) processes, including:
o S&OE demand control – month pacing and weekly forecast variances (horizon 0-3 months) – addressing risks and opportunities.
o S&OP Product Management Review (PMR).
o S&OP Pre-Demand Management Review (pre-DMR).
o S&OP Demand Management Review (DMR).
Supporting the Senior Demand Planning Manager with Integrated Reconciliation (IR) for international MM by explaining the root causes of deviations, completing various trackers about different types of variances, and explaining the sales vs. forecast discrepancies.
The Associate Manager focuses on improving forecast accuracy and bias, aiming to maximize sales while minimizing service issues and balancing working capital targets. They must concentrate on execution in the market with commercial teams and customers where appropriate to develop the best possible approach to planning and business delivery. Participation in the Display Plan with Supply Planning is also required.
Additionally, the Associate Manager manages a team of Market Demand Planners within the same market cluster, developing, motivating, and engaging their team.
Responsibilities
* To support senior Demand Planning Manager and DP analysts by collaborating and sharing knowledge of historical events to filter and future gains and/or cannibalization impacts.
* To challenge local Marketing & Sales departments about market intelligence, to get to a realistic forecast:
o promotional forecast
o promotional display forecast
o information regarding distribution gains and losses
o information regarding new product launch forecast
o information regarding opportunities and risks
o information on Nielsen data and expected seasonality
* To analyze and support a closed feedback loop with sales and marketing monthly on market intelligence to ensure we take every opportunity to improve our MI forecasting.
* To collaborate with DP Analyst in analysis of forecasts and forecast error reports to improve forecast accuracy (net error and absolute error).
* Collaborate with DP Analyst on new product set up and forecast, a common understanding on cannibalization effects, promo analysis, code switches and product allocation in case of capacity constraints.
* Collaborate with DP analysts and other Associate Managers DP to continually review best practices of IBP and other demand planning/ forecasting tools, processes, and procedures.
* To build the pack for the pre-DMR & DMR and facilitate the meeting and obtain the sign off the forecast from the Market Business Director.
* To understand the impact of supply constraints and to enter the constrained forecast in IBP.
* To identify and to investigate root causes of forecast errors.
* To support the implementation of the International Modern Market Roadmap for forecast improvement aligned to the priorities of your manager N+1 (senior Demand Planning Manager).
* To represent demand planning and promote its good practice and strategy within the market and with key market stakeholders.
Specific Accountabilities
* Ensure that the forecast requirements for co-packing and co-packaging are up to date in IBP.
* In case of lack of information from local Marketing, be able to support Customer Service by providing specific information (switches-major events such as NPD and important promotion) pro-actively, for CS to support delivery to customers.
* Follow up on market SLOBs process.
* To support the SKU rationalization process at a market level.

* Fluency in English.
* Strong IT skills i.e. Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* SAP-IBP / SAP knowledge desirable.
