We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Junior Service Support Engineer with excellent electronic and mechanical skills. This is a highly varied role which requires good attention to detail and a flexible approach. Function Based at our head office, the function of the Junior Service Support Engineer is to provide operational, IT and engineering support to the engineering and sales teams and to customers on its portfolio of products. To liaise with suppliers regarding technical issues and to find resolutions for the engineering team. To produce and distribute documentation to support the engineering team and customers. To carry out planned preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs for equipment returned to the workshop. To setup equipment required for testing, demonstrations, exhibitions and training and to check and prepare machine orders ready for despatch. To visit site to support the engineering team or provide additional resource, when required, to the field based engineers. Other prerequisites include: Carry out repairs/maintenance on the company products that are sent into the office Provide technical and engineering support for the field based engineers and sales teams Provide technical, software and operational support to customers via various modes of communication e.g. Telephone, Email, Microsoft Teams, TeamViewer etc. Identify breakdown causes and repair/and report back as required Assist with Installation/Uninstallation the companys products as required Assist the sales department with demonstrations, exhibitions etc. Support other engineers and members of staff Attend training courses as and when required in the UK and overseas and to deliver training to engineers and customers Assist with regular stock checks To promote the companys products and services with a view to upsell and look for sales leads/opportunities for machines, software, maintenance contracts and supplies Represent AMS/LPS is a positive and professional manner Requirements Time served apprenticeship or recognised training program Recognised relevant engineering qualification (City & Guilds/B-TEC/ONC/HNC/HND) Strong fault-finding and repair/servicing skills Committed to training and development Have experience within a servicing/engineering environment A team player with plenty of ideas and enthusiasm Competencies in electrical/electronic, mechanical and software disciplines Proactive and can do attitude Open to other tasks as company workload dictates Be confident to work using your own initiative A team player Customer focused Presentable, polite In return, we offer a very competitive salary, 20 days holiday (plus bank holidays) incremental yearly up to 25 days, pension scheme, mobile telephone, laptop and iPad or equivalent.
