We are recruiting to cover absence for a Workforce Planning & Information Lead to create and lead a coordinated workforce planning programme along with people information systems across YAS. The post holder will be expected to use their existing analysis and business intelligence expertise to understand current and future workforce needs. The post holder will lead the development of the Trust-wide workforce plan (WFP) which underpins the Trust's Business plan.
Working with service lines and corporate leads for the creation of a plan that provides assurance the Trust can satisfactorily meet demand. The planning approach should enable measurement of progress against the agreed trajectories at agreed intervals. To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate your expertise in workforce planning in collaboration with scheduling and workforce modelling colleagues from across all service lines. You will enjoy a challenge where no two days will be the same and enjoy analysing and presenting data to a wide range of audiences. The ability to quickly build relationships and trust in the data is a must.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide workforce planning support and expertise to HRBPs and to service line workforce leads to enable them to build workforce planning capability and capacity within their functions. They will be supported by the Systems and Business Intelligence teams. The ultimate aim is to have one complete long-term workforce plan for the entire organisation.
2. Lead and manage People System ensuring optimisation of the systems' functionalities and workforce data reporting, analysis, and presentation across the organisation.
3. Provide leadership to the development of a succession plan for business-critical roles.
4. Lead and manage workforce supply through the Recruitment Team with a compassionate, innovative and inclusive/values-based approach. This includes designing new roles to fill hard-to-recruit gaps.

Experience and work achievements
Essential
1. Significant and demonstrable experience of workforce planning, analysing workforce information and modelling.
2. Able to analyse, assimilate and critically evaluate complex information from multiple sources to enable effective decision making.
3. Experience of developing medium and long-term strategic plans that provide direction and governance which are in line with strategic business plans, values, and strategic vision.
4. Management and leadership of a team or teams.
5. Experience in using, interrogating, and developing people systems.
Knowledge and educational achievements
Essential
1. Masters level in Business Intelligence or another relevant discipline or the equivalent comparable industry experience (Advanced theoretical knowledge). (Equivalent experience would be seen as significant senior management experience in a similar sized and complex organisation, successfully providing leadership and direction).
2. Evidence of recent and ongoing continuous professional and personal development.
Desirable
1. Qualified Programme / Project Management Practitioner, e.g., PRINCE 2, MSP, etc.
