Summary
We have a great opportunity for a SHE Manager to join the business. This person will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an exemplary and compliant Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental management system.
This is a great opportunity for an individual who has been in a SHE (Safety, Health and Environmental) position, who has been responsible for the day-to-day but also involved in the strategy and direction of the area.
Key Deliverables:
* Ensure that pro-active and reactive inspections of all workplaces are undertaken and there is compliance to the Company SHE Policy / Procedures.
* Make recommendations to both employed and Supply Chain members to correct and/or improve the overall SHE performance.
* Ensure adequate SHE inspection levels are maintained in the Regions and monitor SLT tours, reporting to the Head of SHE on leadership visits.
* Support any external audits and necessary accreditation schemes required by the Division.
* Monitor and report on SHE performance, leading/lagging SHE indicators and produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports to communicate overall Group and Divisional SHE performance.
* Review any SHE related incident and ensure that appropriate levels of investigations are carried out, all necessary Learning & Corrective actions are captured, communicated, understood, and actions are in a timely and efficient manner.
* Support the production/review and application of a Group wide SHE Training Matrix and that the team have the necessary tools and competence.
* Lead and support the development of processes and solutions for known SHE problems/concerns. Review Group procedures and advise Head of SHE of any Divisional specific requirements.
* Observe the duty of care to staff and take all reasonable steps to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the team.
* Generate health & safety improvement plans, waste management plans and environmental plans where necessary.
* Ensure all Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures are complied with and carry out regular inspections of their area; taking appropriate action where non-conformance is identified.
* Review and undertake accident/incident investigations where necessary; identifying root causes and associated improvement plans.
What We’d Like You to Have:
* Previously been in SHE, SHEQ, HSE or similar role.
* Good knowledge of SHE legislation and an understanding of Industry Leading ‘Best Practice’ and/or recognised standards.
* Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety / Environmental and Quality Management Systems (OHSAS 18001 / ISO 14001 and 9001).
* Good report writing / IT skills and excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
* Chartered member of Professional body e.g. CMIOSH.
