Design Engineer - HVAC & Refrigeration Systems
Location: Basildon (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: £40k - £50k

About the Role:
Are you ready to elevate your engineering career? My client is seeking a talented Design Engineer to join their HVAC Design team, working on bespoke HVAC and refrigeration systems for Navy vessels around the world. From OPVs and Mine Hunters to Submarines and Aircraft Carriers, this role offers the chance to work on diverse and exciting naval projects across multiple countries.
What You’ll Do:
1. Develop tailored technical proposals for HVAC system enquiries.
2. Oversee projects from concept and design through to installation and commissioning support.
3. Perform essential HVAC design load calculations to ensure system efficiency and effectiveness.
4. Write detailed system specifications, prepare test procedures, and compile technical reports.
5. Conduct site visits, surveys, and liaise with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards, promoting best practices.
7. Propose new products or design alternatives that enhance energy efficiency and reduce costs.
8. Review OEM designs to ensure compliance with client specifications before manufacturing begins.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
2. Ability to manage workloads and prioritize tasks efficiently.
3. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or Refrigeration.
4. Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and air conditioning systems.
5. Proven experience in HVAC or Mechanical Systems design.
6. Skilled in AutoCAD 2D and 3D, Inventor, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
7. A minimum of 2+ years in a similar design engineering role.
