Job Summary
We are seeking a Downstream Process Engineer withexperience in Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) and Sour Water Stripper(SWS) processes. This role provides specialized and timelyoperations and process engineering support to all processtechnologies operated on both whollyowned and affiliate refiningand chemical operating facilities collectively known as ThisCompany Global Manufacturing. Your primary role will be to provideprocess engineering and operations expertise to monitor optimizeand drive performance improvement programs for refineries SRU &SWS including remote and field technical advisory supportbenchmarking and SRU & SWS technology knowledge management andexchange. You will drive our performance improvement programs whichenhance process safety optimize manufacturing cost and increaseplant reliability.
Responsibilities:
* Review and monitor the performances ofexisting SRU (Sulfur Recovery Unit) & SWS (Sour WaterStripping) facilities using key performance indicators (KPIs) toassess operability profitability reliability and processsafety
* Issue quarterly SRU & SWSperformance benchmarking reports including KPIs analysis andrecommendations for performance improvement.
* Support facilities in implementing the recommendationsand closing performance gaps identified in the quarterlybenchmarking reports.
* Organize benchmarkingand best practices exchange workshops among Global Manufacturingfacilities (whollyowned and affiliates) with SRU & SWS processtechnologies. These workshops will be based on Benchmarking &Best Practices Exchange Agreements among Global Manufacturingfacilities.
* Issue bimonthly SRU & SWStechnical best practices bulletins for sharing within GlobalManufacturing facilities.
* Provide ondemandremote and/or field technical advisory support to GlobalManufacturing facilities regarding SRU & SWS operationsincluding process troubleshooting startup and shutdown activitiescapacity test runs technology pilot testing and processdesign.
* Issue service reports for each supportactivity highlighting facility needs actions taken results andlessons learned.
* Propose cost optimization orprocess improvement initiatives in collaboration with GlobalManufacturing facilities engineers focusing on lowhanging fruitsthat require minimal or no capital investment through operationaladjustments or design modifications.
* Conductinternal assessments of SRU & SWS process engineering standardsusing This Company engineering standard references. Highlight anydeviations or better standards applied by affiliates forendorsement by facility management or This Company CentralEngineering.
* Support the implementation ofrelevant engineering standards for SRU & SWS across GlobalManufacturing upon facility management approval.
* Serve as the Admin Area overall coordinator for thecascading and implementation of Global Manufacturing and Corporateprograms to operating facilities ensuring effectivemonitoring.
* Participate in Business Plandevelopment and coordinate with stakeholders for any capitalinvestments in assigned process units supporting technoeconomicevaluations.
* Recommend and coordinate thedeployment of proven technologies in SRU & SWS processunits.
* Liaise with Global ManufacturingExcellenceManufacturing Technical Support Division and EngineeringServices for technology assessments and pilotingsupport.
* Participate as subject matter expertsin external benchmarking with thirdparty entities such as JapanCooperation Council Petroleum (JCCP) and Gulf DownstreamAssociation (GDA).
* Participate in SRU &SWS hazard operability (HAZOP) and safety integrity level (SIL)studies as required by operating facilities.
* Participate in incident investigation activities relatedto SRU & SWS process technologies as required by operatingfacilities.
* Act as the overall coordinator forproviding SRU & SWS data required by Global ManufacturingAffiliate Affairs from This Company whollyownedfacilities.
Requirements:
* This role required candidate topermanently relocate at Dhahran SaudiArabia.
* Hold a Bachelors degreein Chemical Engineering or a related specialization with apreference for an advanced degree.
* Possess aminimum of 15 years of experience in refinery or gas plant processunits encompassing both process engineering and operations with aminimum of 10 years experience in managing SRUs/TGTU/SWSplants.
* Exposure to various SRU/TGTU processlicensor technologies is advantageous.
