Job summary The post holder will provide a comprehensive and effective medical secretary service to the consultants and medical team and clerical support to the clinical services. They will undertake day to day supervision of band 2 staff and liaise with the Administration Lead to ensure that high standards of data quality are achieved and maintained to ensure clinical practitioners are proactively supported with service delivery. Main duties of the job Provide a senior confidential, quality administrative service to an identified branch of services with the Care Group. Provide line management to identified Band 2 Administration Assistants including supervision and PDR. Assist with the induction of new members of administration staff. To communicate effectively, accurately and professionally, applying discretion and empathy where necessary, with written, telephone and face to face contact, with patients, service users, visitors, other Trust staff and external agencies. Provide and receive routine information to work colleagues and clients. Exchange information with clients requiring tact and diplomacy. Maintain quality in own work and encourage others to do so whilst working as an effective and responsible senior team member.
