Under the leadership of Professor Johann de Bono, we are seeking to appoint a Assistant Study Manager to join The Drug Development Unit (DDU), within the ICR and Royal Marsden. DDU undertakes industry-sponsored early phase clinical trials of new anticancer drugs. We are a world class clinical trials unit with a dedicated ward within the Royal Marsden Hospital for the development of novel cancer therapeutics which we believe will improve the care of cancer patients.
Key Requirements
The post holders will be educated to at least degree level in life sciences/nursing, with experience of working in Phase I Oncology clinical trials, preferably with experience of having contact with patients with terminal disease. They must have excellent communication and customer service skills to ensure highly effective and appropriate communication both with patients and their families/carers, member of the multidisciplinary research team and with external partners. They must have a sound working knowledge of the regulatory framework underpinning UK Clinical Trials and the implementation of clinical trial protocols in accordance ICH GCP within an investigator site.
The post holder must be highly organised and able to assist our Study Management team with managing several highly complex studies at a time, planning their work and competing priorities around a busy clinical unit. They should be logical and methodical, possess strong problem solving skills and be proficient in the use of MS Office applications.
Appointments will be on a one-year contract in the first instance. This post also benefits from generous annual leave entitlement and a pension.
