A Snapshot of Your Day
We're currently looking to add a Senior/Principal Hardware/Electrical Engineer to our Engineering team at Siemens Energy Gas and Power Services based in Lincoln. Working as part of the Engineering team, you will be responsible for the design and development of Turbine and Auxiliary Control Panel hardware and Turbine Package electrical systems for Siemens Energy Gas and Power Services.
How You'll Make an Impact
What are my responsibilities?
1. Developing solutions to replace obsolete equipment/parts to maintain the business' fleet of gas turbines.
2. Converting these solutions into generic replacement kits/parts for retrofitting.
3. Designing/constructing new hardware solutions to replace obsolete Turbine control systems or upgrade current systems.
4. Constructing new hardware solutions to replace obsolete auxiliary control systems (e.g., Generator Control Panels, Motor Control Centres, Power within Gas Explosive atmospheres).
5. Supporting sales by supplying detailed quotes for engineering times, potential hardware requirements, and possible engineering solutions regarding customer inquiries.
What You Bring
1. A degree or equivalent professionally accredited or recognized in an engineering subject area, preferably relating to Controls, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, and Software.
2. Working experience with hardware design CAD tools, Promise-e and Microstation.
3. Knowledge of change/configuration management tools and processes, as well as experience with other IT-related tools and software for business analytics and project management.
4. Working experience of IEC60079 Explosive atmospheres Part 14: Electrical Installation design and selection would be beneficial.
5. Experience working with gas turbine technology or similar industrial products for Oil & Gas or Energy industry would be advantageous, but experience from other industries with transferable skills could also be considered.
6. Practitioner of a Systems Engineering approach to product improvement is highly desirable.
