My client who works within the Aerospace sector is looking for a Multi-skilled Engineer. This is a very exciting opportunity and a multifunctional role which is divided into 3 functions:
1. Design (10%): Design is mainly desk-based. It starts from receiving work requests from clients and goes on to liaising with customers to gather all the necessary information and requirements of the projects. The design is mostly done on CAD software Autodesk Fusion 360. Once the design is complete, it requires completing drawings for manufacture.
2. Build/Assembly/Fabrication (30%): Once the design is completed and all the materials are received, it may require light fabrication such as chopping the materials, drilling holes, bending tubes, etc. Additionally, the design requires assembling multiple components to achieve the end product.
3. Maintenance (60%): The role also focuses on maintenance of equipment, including periodic planned maintenance and sometimes reactive maintenance. Planned maintenance mainly involves servicing and overhauling components like valves, regulators, and gas boosters. Reactive maintenance focuses on identifying and resolving faults on equipment and assemblies to get production back up and running.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. Provide technical assistance to MRO departments regarding test equipment.
2. Work and assist in organizing as part of a small team, covering all projects during periods of independent working.
3. Assist with training in new equipment and systems for technicians.
4. Carry out fault finding of Pneumatic & Hydraulic test rigs.
5. Fabricate/Assemble equipment designed by the Engineering department for the workshop, i.e., test rigs, packing jigs, and tools.
6. Assist with creating and managing a program.
7. Ability to interpret CAD drawings for building and assembly.
Required Skills:
1. Qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or equivalent experience in an engineering role.
2. Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a technical role.
3. Experience of working in a workshop.
Salary up to £36,000 DOE.
