What will you be doing: In this role you will be responsible for assisting with corporate tax matters within the EMEA region for the Cooper Companies supporting both CooperVision and CooperSurgical entities within the business. For CooperSurigcal entities this includes a wider remit of all countries outside of the US. The role will require liaison with external tax advisors, tax authorities, US tax team in Cooper Headquarters, R&D department, finance functions within EMEA and many other internal stakeholders. Essential Functions & Accountabilities: Preparation of tax computations and returns for UK entities including CooperVision International Ltd (CVIL) with revenues of c$1.5bn and various significant complex corporate tax matters. Assist with preparation of patent box and R&D claims within the group, including liaising with personnel within R&D department to collate information for returns Forecasting and modelling of future corporate tax position Review of annual tax computations for those countries within the region including return to provision calculations. Assist with ensuring transfer pricing compliance within the region including calculation of transfer prices based on forecast information Assist with ensuring that appropriate documentation is in place to support the annual senior accounting officer requirements in relation to corporate tax Liaison with HMRC on corporate tax matters Assist with preparation of technical papers on various corporate tax matters Preparation of quarterly corporation tax provision including outside of the UK. No specific local tax knowledge is needed to complete this review. Assist with preparation of tax disclosures for inclusion in UK annual Statutory Accounts Provide input into process improvement projects To perform any other duties as required What skills and experience should you have? You’ll be qualified (ACA,ACCA,ATT, CTA or equivalent), have direct experience with corporate tax including experience of preparation of UK tax returns. Have demonstrable accounting expertise with calculating/reviewing quarterly tax provisions. To be successful in this position, you must be able to operate in a dynamic and changing environment, manage multiple deadlines, display a high level of professionalism and organisational skills, maintain confidentiality as necessary and have strong verbal and written communication skills. You’ll have good knowledge of MS Office packages including excel, have a high level of attention to detail and be able to participate in a multi-cultural environment.
