Health, Safety & Environment Manager Location: Flexible across UK offices (Bath, London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Leeds) Contract Type: Permanent | Working Hours: 37.5 per week Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 Work Model: Hybrid (2-3 days working from home, remaining in-office/site visits) We are recruiting for an experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) Manager to lead HS&E across multiple UK offices. The Role Reporting operationally to the COO and working closely with the Global Health & Safety Director, you will: - Lead the HS&E strategy and drive a strong safety culture across all UK offices. - Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 and oversee internal and external audits. - Implement and review safety policies and procedures to ensure they remain fit for purpose. - Oversee the site safety initiative, ensuring engineers working externally are trained, equipped, and supported with dynamic risk assessments. - Address emerging risks, including driver safety improvements. - Work with ESG teams and office managers to support net-zero carbon initiatives. - Oversee energy efficiency and sustainability measures, ensuring they are properly budgeted and tracked. - Manage one direct report (who will be part of the hiring process). - Lead on high-level incident investigations and communicate lessons learned. What We’re Looking For Qualifications & Training - NEBOSH Diploma - Tech IOSH or higher Key Skills & Experience - Pragmatic and dynamic approach—an enabler rather than a rigid rule enforcer. - Ability to influence leadership and embed cultural change. - Experience in engineering, construction, or consultancy is beneficial, but a corporate background will also be considered. - Strong auditing experience with ISO standards. - Knowledge of the Building Safety Act, asbestos regulations, and refurbishment projects is an advantage. - Experience project managing ESG or environmental initiatives is desirable. - Strong communication skills, leadership presence, and gravitas. Not Suitable For: - Candidates with purely contractor-based health and safety backgrounds.
