We are currently seeking a skilled ABA Therapy Assistant with experience supporting students with challenging behaviours to join a well-regarded special school in Haringey, North London. This school caters to pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).
Candidates with experience in Positive Behaviour Support or Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) are particularly encouraged to apply for this rewarding opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils, using Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behaviour Analysis principles, under the supervision of the Class Teacher.
- Implement behaviour management strategies aligned with individual behaviour plans during group lessons.
- Support pupils in managing challenging behaviours, following behaviour plans, and documenting incidents in accordance with school policies.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils at all times, providing supervision and support throughout the school day.
- Assist with personal, health, and hygiene matters, maintaining records and reporting as needed in coordination with the Class Teacher.
- Administer medication as required, ensuring the Class Teacher is informed.
- Report any concerns, adhering to school policies on safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, and confidentiality.
- Undertake data collection to support assessments and assist in planning, as directed by the Class Teacher and VB Tutor.
- Help display pupils' work and contribute to the school's creative environment, as guided by the Class Teacher.
