Honda Racing Corporation, broadly known as HRC, is a racing arm of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. HRC UK has been established in 2024 as a European base for its F1 activities.
The main purpose of this role is to coordinate arrangements for Air and Sea Freight, and Van or Truck arrangements, to support and drive Honda Formula 1 activities from the Milton Keynes office/factory. These duties require close communication and collaboration with our Race Team at track side and Logistics Coordinators in HRC Japan, as well as the MK factory team, to deliver the goods to race and test venues.
The secondary purpose of this role is to arrange ground transportation for the race team and other business trips.
This role is expected to be initially based predominantly in the office; however, track side support at some races, tests, or events is expected, and the proportion of factory work to trackside work may change in the future, depending on business requirements.
Responsibilities include:
1. Create, update, and distribute a logistics plan for Race and Test Events throughout the year to relevant contacts who organise production, service plan of PU components, or garage equipment services.
2. Create all documentation for exporting goods, shipping invoices, etc.
3. Liaise with forwarder (DHL, etc.) to arrange deliveries to and from the factory to the Circuit.
4. Work in conjunction with colleagues at track side and the Logistics Coordinator in HRC Japan, as well as the MK factory team to deliver the goods to race and test venues.
5. Arrange ground transportation for the race team and other business trips from the Office to the destination airport.
6. Assist with arrangement for Race Team Uniform distribution and delivery to the circuit, hotel, or to person, if required.
7. Occasionally cover Race Team colleagues at the track side.
8. Carry out any other duties as directed by the Manager or reasonably requested by the Company.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
1. Motorsports track side experience.
2. Fork lift truck driving licence.
3. Dangerous Goods training certificate highly desirable; however, assistance can be provided by the Company.
4. An adept communicator, able to build good relationships across all cultures both internally and externally.
5. Cross-cultural working environment experience.
6. Competence and licence to drive in the UK.
7. Travel overseas will be required.
8. Use of Microsoft Office (mainly Excel and Word).
