Position: Commercial Manager
Location: Brighton or Chatham with hybrid working
Salary: £90-100k neg (DOE), bonus, car/allowance and excellent benefits package
Our Client: An integrated design and build solution provider operating in the water sector, with over 1,000 staff across eight regional centres, supporting long-term water sector frameworks.
The Role: Our Client is looking to strengthen their commercial team with a Commercial Manager for their CMDP joint venture framework. Based at either the Brighton or Chatham office, you will provide leadership and management to the commercial delivery teams and core team commercial functions for the CMDP business.
CMDP is a joint venture delivering schemes to maintain and improve Southern Water's water supply and wastewater treatment works in Kent & East Sussex.
Responsibilities: You will report directly to the Senior Commercial Manager. Responsibilities include:
1. Commercial management of project performance.
2. Commercial & contractual support to the procurement team.
3. Input to CMDP commercial strategy development.
4. Leading the commercial team in the tranche programme.
5. Review of commercial resource levels with the Programme Manager.
6. Advise on commercial resourcing requirements.
7. Support recruitment of commercial resources.
8. Provide contractual and commercial training to CMDP staff.
9. Review and develop commercial processes and procedures.
10. Undertake approvals in accordance with the CMDP authority matrix.
11. Deputise for the Senior Commercial Manager as needed.
Experience:
1. Comprehensive commercial experience, preferably with a contracting organisation.
2. BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
3. Professionally qualified to RICS, CMinstCES, or equivalent management experience.
4. NEC3 Contract experience.
5. Preferably previous water/construction experience in a joint venture environment.
6. Experienced in Microsoft products, particularly Excel.
7. Knowledge of IT reporting systems.
