Join us as an OpenShift Engineer We’ll look to you to design and deliver the engineering of OpenShift technologies In order to achieve a first-class customer experience, you’ll make sure that the project deliverables can achieve the customers’ goals, within a well-considered total cost of ownership You’ll work with colleagues across the bank, allowing you to expand your network and gain exposure for you and your work What you'll do As an OpenShift Engineer, you’ll be engineering Platform as a Service (PaaS) for departmental applications and services. You’ll be working on service or change initiatives, ensuring their availability and maintaining, managing and deploying technology application on behalf of the function or investment projects. We’ll look to you to be a trusted business advisor and collaborate with stakeholders to provide innovative solutions to solve the most challenging business problems. You’ll also be: Analysing applications, infrastructure, and surrounding systems, defining target application architectures, including new cloud-native core systems and modernisation strategies Working with IaaS, PaaS, CaaS, and other product teams to identify the most effective modernisation approaches, whether modernising legacy applications or building entirely new application stacks using modern cloud-native architectures Envisioning innovative ways to apply platform practices and services to solve business problems, and effectively communicating these approaches to various business audiences across designated industries Acting as an expert during project delivery and solutioning phases, while leading the implementation of architecture for omnichannel systems of engagement The skills you'll need To succeed in this role, you’ll need a clear understanding of RedHat OpenShift, including the ability to map existing components and functionalities to RedHat OpenShift specific services. You’ll also need a deep understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of these services. You’ll also demonstrate: Strong knowledge of infrastructure architecture fundamentals, including assets, tools, and methods Expertise in Kubernetes fundamentals A solid understanding of cloud native development principles A good understanding of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering models
