Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse - Critical Care
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
The Deputy Sister / Deputy Charge Nurse will undertake the management of the unit on a day-to-day basis in the absence of or in conjunction with the Sister/Charge nurse. This challenging role involves providing excellent leadership, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. You will be a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, progressing the patient pathway, managing critical care resources effectively whilst assisting in leading and developing a team of nurses.
The unit at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital is a 9-bedded unit and at Basingstoke is an 18-bedded unit. We are a team of approximately 130 nurses and pride ourselves on our friendly and supportive reputation. Patients vary, and we admit both medical and surgical admissions from the Emergency Department and the wards. We have an outreach service, and this team works alongside the critical care team to ensure the best care for our patients. The post holder is required to be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Your main work base would be RHCH and will be required to work cross-site in BNHH critical care; a shuttle bus runs regularly between sites.
If you would like to be part of these exciting times and contribute to developing our services further, we would be delighted to hear from you. We would highly recommend an informal visit to the department.
