Job Role: Product Designer UX/UI
Job Type: Full Time, 6 Months Contract
Location: Remote- with some task related travel
Job purpose:
As Travelex continues to enhance its digital customer offering, a significant online platform and frontend rebuild initiative requires the skills of two contract Product Designers, with expertise in UX and UI Design. These designers will join a high-functioning in-house team, focused on building user-centric solutions. Over a 6-month period, they will play a pivotal role improving product usability, while aligning with strategic business objectives. This will be achieved through comprehensive discovery, definition, and design processes.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
* Partner with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Developers, Researchers and fellow Designers, to drive the end-to-end design process.
* Evolve, manage, and maintain a comprehensive UI component library within Figma, ensuring consistency across all design deliverables.
* Design, document, and maintain reusable components (including usage guidelines and best practices) as part of a wider design system, ensuring alignment with both current and future product requirements.
* Create high-fidelity user interfaces that solve known usability issues, with the application of research findings, design principles and the Travelex UI library.
* Consider design solutions in the context of white-label and partner delivery.
* Present design solutions to stakeholders, articulating rationale and the user-centric insights that drove the approach.
Skills, knowledge, and experience:
Must have:
* Must have experience with a tokenised approach to UI design and development (Figma variables and/or Tokens Studio use).
* Process driven, with a meticulous approach to digital asset creation, file management and project documentation.
* Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to effectively communicate with development teams.
* Practical knowledge of UX role in agile Scrum methodology ways of working.
* Experience maintaining design systems with UI libraries in Figma.
* A question driven, user focused approach to problem solving.
* The ability to confidently present, actively listen and question, during Product meeting scenarios.
Preferred:
* Degree in UXD or a relative qualification and/or experience.
* Experience contracting in a global or corporate setting, especially within fast-paced, digital product environments.
* Knowledge of the Tailwind CSS framework and designing for React Native builds
* Portfolio examples of past CMS or white-label design collaborations
* Portfolio examples of past finance or ecommerce design solutions
Technical / professional qualifications and experience:
* Extensive experience building and managing UI libraries in Figma with a particular focus on the role of variables and modes
* Working knowledge of MV testing and personalisation platforms
* Excellent knowledge of working tools i.e., Figma, Miro, Trello, Jira, Confluence Microsoft Office 365,
* Keen interest in emerging technologies
