We are currently recruiting with a client based in Leicester who provide supported housing and deliver tailored support to clients in Leicestershire. They are currently recruiting for two positions within their Leicester team.
Both roles are full-time at 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with three days from 8:30am-4:30pm and two days from 1pm to 9pm. Both roles can be offered on a temporary or permanent basis.
Tenancy Support Officer Responsibilities:
1. Carry out a full needs assessment at the point of referral into the service to establish the nature of support required by the young person.
2. Co-ordinate tenancy management and rent collection to ensure all housing management income is collected effectively.
3. Uphold safeguarding procedures and maintain regular contact with at-risk young people, ensuring concerns are reported to relevant managers, colleagues, or statutory agencies.
4. Provide advice and support in relation to budgeting, maximising income, reducing expenditure, dealing with debt, managing rent arrears, and welfare benefits to prevent homelessness in accordance with policy, procedures, and relevant regulations.
5. Ensure fair access, process applications, conduct relevant background checks, and allocate vacant properties.
6. Carry out and report on property inspections, reviewing inventory, fabric, and health, safety, and environmental hazards.
7. Help clients maximise income by tracking and monitoring individual payment schedules, recharge, rent arrears, and managing voids, addressing concerns in accordance with policy and procedures.
8. Identify and provide support to the young person, liaising with and making appropriate referrals internally and externally to assist them in maintaining their tenancy. Ensure services are accessed, or agencies are aware of matters of concern in line with the young person's needs and in accordance with policy and procedures.
