Our esteemed client, a reliable partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence, are seeking an MRP Controller. The key responsibilities of this role are effectively managing the current and upcoming manufacturing schedules, overseeing Logistics Management activities, and ensuring the timely delivery of customer programs at the Bolton site.
Reporting to a senior Manufacturing Planning & Control team member, the successful MRP Controller candidate will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing and coordinating planning activities to deliver the Manufacturing Planning Schedule (MPS) on time, within budget, and to the desired quality.
* Ensuring the timely submission of paperwork to the shipping departments.
* Coordinating and executing all activities related to material planning and procurement to ensure timely and adequate supply of materials for efficient manufacturing output.
* Releasing, managing, and scheduling all work in the MRP system and ensuring delivery forecasts are maintained and communicated to customers.
* Efficiently managing material inventory to meet targets and reduce waste/costs. Ensuring MRP accuracy via regular stock checks.
* Collaborating with the supply planner to communicate plan changes and resolve supply chain constraints.
* Identifying risks related to supplied parts to the planning and control team lead for escalation within the sales and ops process.
* Managing inventory levels, resolving queries, maintaining MRP system accuracy, and submitting paperwork for store and dispatch-related transactions.
* Supporting adequate non-conformance management controls.
* Maintaining the manufacturing bill of materials and manufacturing strategy by ensuring master data is topical.
* Achieving optimal schedule adherence, inventory management, and delivery performance, and executing the planning process effectively.
What do you need?
* Prior experience in manufacturing planning, supply chain management, or a related position is required.
* Supply chain certification is preferred but not mandatory.
* CILT training/qualifications would be beneficial.
* Proficiency in the use of SAP and MRP systems is required, as well as Microsoft Office skills.
* Good planning and organizing skills, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
* Prior experience with international shipping would be advantageous.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by our clients Security Team.
