Are you a detail-driven Accounts Receivable professional looking for your next opportunity? Our client, a well-established and dynamic business based in Spennymoor, is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist (Credit Controller) to join their finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the credit control process whilst building strong customer relationships and contributing to a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage daily cash collections and allocations alongside the Finance Administrator
2. Reconcile customer accounts regularly to ensure timely payments and resolve any discrepancies
3. Generate customer statements and send payment reminders
4. Maintain professional relationships with customers and resolve any payment queries or disputes
5. Provide customers with accurate invoice details, supporting data, and necessary reports
6. Submit rebate reports for frameworks
7. Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Customer Service, Admin) to resolve billing or payment issues
8. Prepare aged debtor reports, highlighting risks and actions for management review
9. Complete month-end reconciliations, including bad debt provisions and necessary journal entries
10. Continuously review and improve current processes, suggesting system enhancements
11. Provide general support to the finance team and other departments as required
About you:
12. At least 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or Credit Control
13. Confident communication skills - written, verbal, and virtual
14. Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders
15. High attention to detail and accuracy in your work
16. Self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
17. Proficient with Microsoft Office and adaptable to new systems
