Job summary Hawthorn and Merchiston PCN is a collaboration of two well established GP practices in Swindon. We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward thinking PCN manager to join our team and drive our network forward. Whilst the two surgeries have been working together for several years, we are a newly formed PCN and this is an exciting opportunity to help shape our future and to enhance the care of our patients and communities. The successful candidate will work alongside our practice managers and clinical directors as a key member of our management team. Main duties of the job The PCN manager will have operational responsibility for the safe and efficient running of the PCN. Working with the management team, you will be responsible for: Leading on recruitment and retention of PCN staff with direct line management of team leads and other staff members Working with member practices to identify areas of common concern or potential for collaborative working within the PCN specifications Directly supporting the roll out, delivery and sustainability of services including developing and maintaining sufficient capacity to meet the day to day demands placed on the PCN Submitting claims for ARRS funding and working closely with the Practice Managers to oversee the management of the PCN finances Supporting the development of bids for new money and funding streams as they become available to the PCN Ensuring contractual obligations in relation to patient care are met and leading on the establishment and ongoing support of a Patient Participation Group About us Hawthorn & Merchiston PCN supports two practices. The Merchiston practice was established around 1860 in the village of Stratton-St-Margaret. Until the 1950s, Stratton was a small farming community and it still retains its separate identity, despite now being a suburb of Swindon. The Partnership moved from the original Doctors house into new purpose-built premises in 1992. Merchiston Surgery is the larger Practice with a raw patient list of 13,500 (13,700 weighted list) We are a teaching practice with 2 Education Supervisors, 1 Clinical Supervisor, supporting 3 Trainee GPs. Rated excellent by the Swindon GP QA Panel for our trainee placement. Hawthorn Medical Centre has 13000 patients in Swindon, and was this year rated "Good" by CQC. We are a successful training practice with previous trainees staying with us.
