The Role of Marketing and Communications Manager To develop,implement and be responsible for the Association’s communications, marketing and associated activities.
Key Responsibilities: Communications Email communications – monthly scheduling of e-comms, to include newsletters/news updates, event promotion and education information.
Responsible for design, production, content collation from internal and external sourcesas well as some content generation.
Responsible for communications through social media activity
- planning strategy, some content creation, and delivery – as per the business strategy.
Website updates, including regular content, maintenance, user management and liaison with external marketing and related agencies.
Manage the production of the member’s magazine, issued three times per annum, alongside the Editorial Committee.
Responsible for writing some content, liaising with and briefing contributors, proof reading, editingand overseeing the publication with the publishers.
Working with the internal team on the annual eventsprogramme (circa 5 per annum including residential conference, day conferences and online and in-person seminars), to include working with colleagues on venue selection and liaison, sourcing and booking speakers, web page and online booking page creation, promotional activity to generate bookings and delegate management.
MARKETING Management of industry press campaigns (currently 2), liaising with publishers, negotiating preferential rates, identifying PR opportunities and working to deadlines.
Management of the SEO strategy, implementing necessary changes and improvements.
Responsible for social media marketing activity
- planning strategy, some content creation, and delivery – as per the business strategy.
Design of marketing materials – advertisements, brochures, exhibition graphics, web and email graphics, Annual Review and business stationery etc.
Marketing of Association events and membership.
Liaisingon event sales and marketing with the commercial operators/license holders of the annual exhibition CRM system management (admin user) – data lists in line with GDPR, ensuring that the integration with the website, event booking platform and online education booking functions are maintained.
Managing the Association’s education programmes.
To include internal (to the membership) and external marketing and promotion, appropriate liaison with content creators to ensure that course information is kept current, management of the online student area and student enquiries and maintenance of relationships with HR/Training Managers.
To work with the Commercial Director to explore, develop and expand the portfolio of education offered to members and non-members.
Person Specification Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skillsand ability to build workingrelationships at all levels Proven design/graphics skills using Adobe Creative Suite Working knowledge of website CMS and basic HTML coding Extensive knowledge and experience of WordPress Experience managing CRM systems Working knowledge of social media management and monitoring tools Abilityto work flexibly, adapt quicklyand provide cross-functionality within marketing, operations and business development tasks Knowledge/familiarity of Xero accounting package preferred.
