Responsibilities:
1. Supervise children and safeguard them from harm.
2. Work with the Early Years Teachers and room leaders on planning and preparation of activities to meet children’s individual needs, liaising with parents to ensure effective communication within the nursery.
3. Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent, and visitor at all times, taking reference from our health and safety policy.
4. Provide engaging and purposeful experiences, environments, and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
5. Assist with the delivery of the Early Years curriculum and be guided by the development matters handbook for child development.
6. Observe and support children’s development, update children’s learning journals with accuracy and relevance, and seek guidance from colleagues or the Room Leader if in doubt.
7. Work towards a good understanding of the statutory framework for the EYFS.
8. Take part in delivering the highest standards of care throughout the nursery.
9. Work well as part of a team, including the management team.
10. Participate in all relevant training provided by your employer/training provider.
11. Complete all tasks in a timely manner.
12. Work on your own initiative.
13. Complete any housekeeping duties throughout the day (e.g., tea making, washing up, laundry, sweeping, wiping, and mopping).
14. Maintain high standards of hygiene practices around the nursery.
15. Be an active and self-reflective practitioner and take responsibility for your own personal development along with the management team.
Entry Requirements
GCSE or equivalent Maths/English (Grade 4) desirable.

Training to be Provided
You will be supported by an assessor throughout your apprenticeship. As you progress through your apprenticeship, your duties and responsibilities will alter as you develop the skills for a successful career in childcare.
Training will be a mix of face-to-face and online learning.
You will gain an Early Years qualification with a view to continuing onto further levels of apprenticeships and training.
Functional Skills in Maths and English if required.
