We are looking for a Supply Chain Planner for a 12 Months contract based in Bristol (Hybrid 2-3 days per week in the office) on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.
Job description - the role
As a Supply Chain Planner, you will join the client's teams and drive improved performance across the external supply chain. The client's Supplier Management teams work closely with their external supply chain partners to ensure they deliver on customer commitments. You will be responsible for ensuring the planning and on-time delivery of a defined portfolio of components across the full product lifecycle.
As a Supply Chain Planner you will be responsible for:
* Being the first point of contact with regards to delivery for the external supply chain and internal stakeholders.
* Regular and accurate management of the demand schedule to ensure correct flow down to suppliers and delivery commitments/forecasts to the Client.
* Identify and mitigate risks associated with supplier delivery.
* Leading Order Book Reviews, confirming that suppliers have the required capacity, material and production schedule to support customer requirements.
* Regularly visit suppliers to understand current status to agreed plans and identify where risks could occur.
* Work with other functions to ensure items which could impact on a suppliers ability to deliver are resolved, including but not limited to invoice clearance, commercial disputes, technical/quality queries or insufficient purchase order coverage.
* Create and execute (forecast) arrears recovery plans for parts/suppliers who are behind plan, utilising an appropriate suite of planning and control tools.
What we require from the candidate:
* Business experience within planning, manufacturing and/or supply chain.
* You will be a proficient user of Microsoft Office applications (Excel is essential) with working knowledge of an ERP system, preferably SAP MRP, Production Planning & Material Management.
* An understanding of load and capacity planning.
* Data analysis and decision-making skills, comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
* The ability to communicate with all parts of the business including internal and external stakeholders.
* Membership of a relevant professional body or institute (e.g., APICS CPIM) would be desirable.
