What's involved with this role: Temporary Team Co-Ordinator/Administrator – Social Care Reference no: Stoke 5256476 Pay Rate: £12.70 per hour PAYE Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, 8.30am to 5pm Role Length: This opening assignment is for 4-5 months City: Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire Enhanced DBS disclosure is listed as a requirement for this role The purpose of the role is to provide an efficient and effective service to designated Teams within Children’s Social Care. Work flexibly to support the work of the Team including activities/tasks with children and families. Key Responsibilities: Provide an excellent customer service, displaying a ‘can do’ attitude, working with accuracy and speed. Provide an efficient, effective, empathetic and responsive service to the public, agencies and professionals and a commitment to customer care and service. Maintain systems and processes to enable the smooth running of the social work Team, ensuring that the work of the Team is co-ordinated and well organised. Act as a first point of contact for enquiries to the service and or Team, some of which may be complex and/or contentious, from other staff, members of the public, or other agencies. To answer queries where possible, and to take messages for members of the Team or direct the caller to another source of help Be aware of children’s and families’ circumstances and to keep up to date on developments within cases, in order to be equipped to answer queries from children, families, staff or other agencies as directed by the Team Manager. Ensure diaries and appointments for members of the Team are co-ordinated and accessible. Organise meetings and arrange venues for members of the Team and alert members to forthcoming meetings and appointments. Maintain systems of key statutory requirements for children as directed by the Team Manager, for example child protection visits, children’s reviews etc., ensuring that members of the Team are aware of due dates in advance. Service the weekly case planning meeting ensuring papers are prepared, relevant professionals are invited to specific case discussions, and accurate records are kept for each child discussed. Access, input and retrieve information using Corporate and Departmental information systems (manual and computerised). Maintain up-to-date information on files, lists and records as required (manual and/or computerised) and ensure easy retrieval of the same information. Qualifications: Good standard of education with excellent numeracy and literacy skills. Skills & Experience: Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation. Good standard of education with excellent numeracy and literacy skills. Ability to demonstrate experience of positive and effective working relationships. Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to deal with members of the public and staff in a sensitive and appropriate manner. Ability to work both as part of a team and work on your own initiative. Good administrative skills. An ability to manage competing demands and priorities, work methodically, think systematically and achieve targets. Computer literacy and the skills necessary to work with information management systems and produce good quality data in a variety of formats. Ability to write concise reports and summarise information. Knowledge of, and sensitivity to, the needs of vulnerable children and their families. Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
