A fantastic and exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join the Children Looked After team at East Riding of Yorkshire Council on a full-time basis.
Our Children Looked After team provides essential support and care to children and young people in long-term care, up to the age of 16. You will be a vital part of a supportive team comprising social workers, advanced social workers, and dedicated administrative support, all working cohesively under the guidance of our Team Manager.
About the Role:
As a Social Worker in our Children Looked After team, you will:
* Build Positive Relationships: Develop strong, meaningful relationships with our children, young people, and their families, fostering trust and open communication.
* Ensure Statutory Compliance: Uphold and meet all statutory duties and responsibilities related to children looked after, ensuring adherence to best practice standards.
* Safeguard Welfare: Actively promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people, and their families, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
* Conduct Thorough Assessments: Assess the need for intervention and services for allocated cases, evaluating the seriousness of risks, any harm suffered, and balancing this with family strengths and potential solutions.
* Develop Effective Support Plans: Collaborate with children, young people, and their families to develop comprehensive support plans and effective interventions that manage and reduce identified risks and meet the individual needs of each child.
What We Are Looking For:
* A qualified and experienced Social Worker with a strong understanding of children's social care.
* A commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* A strong understanding of relevant legislation and best practice.
* Current registration with Social Work England.
